Lakeside Burlington Vermont Elopement | November 8th, 2024


Sadie and Trent threw tradition out the window and celebrated their union with an elopement that perfectly represented their relationship. The couple planned their day as a reflection of their favorite things--starting with a to do list and charcuterie, to ending with a walk through the woods to the shores of Lake Champlain at sunset to say their vows with their best friends by their side. Their day was a true reflection of their relationship and personalities, with every moment filled with laughter, joy, and intimate moments with their favorite people.


The Location: Lone Rock Point | Burlington, Vermont


Located just off the bike path on the coast of Lake Champlain, Lone Rock Point is one of my favorite places in Vermont to watch the sunset, and the perfect place to say your vows in the city of Burlington, Vermont. The location offers stunning views of Lake Champlain, with a beautiful walk through the woods and over the popular Burlington bike path. With easy access from the parking lot and short trails, it's a perfect spot to host an intimate elopement in Burlington, Vermont.


Lakeside Burlington Elopement | The Story


Sadie and Trent began their day getting ready together at their home in Colchester, Vermont. They invited their two best friends--and old roommates--JP and Nora to be a part of their celebration. The four ate charcuterie, had a wine toast, drank tea, and snuggled with their cats while they finished packing for their mini-moon weekend getaway. The couple opted for outfits that fit their personalities best--a comfortable brown midi dress for Sadie (complete with her signature clogs) and a brown and red ensemble for Trent, with perfect boots for walking the hiking trails.


After taking family portraits on their sun porch with one of their cats, the couple had group photos in their backyard with their friends--laughing and throwing leaves at each other the whole time. Then we packed up our cars and headed over to the parking lot at the trailhead for Lone Rock Point to start our trek down to the waters edge. Along the way, we laughed, shared stories, took photos, and explored an outdoor chapel in the woods.


Once we reached the water, the sky broke open with a sudden rain shower, the golden sunset light shining through the clouds while the couple stood in the rain--reading their vows to each other with the crashing of the waves in the background. The ceremony ended with happy tears, lots of hugs, and beautiful photos of the couple and their friends on the shores of Lake Champlain. After trekking back to the parking lot, everyone said farewell while the newlyweds headed off to their honeymoon in Quebec City for the long weekend.
