Non-Traditional Stick Season Wedding | October 26th, 2024
Emily and Jer embraced the best of stick season in late October in Vermont by celebrating their love with a non-traditional wedding at a private Airbnb called Satoyama Mountain Farm in Rochester, Vermont. The couple planned a day filled with personal touches, from wine charms and terracotta decor palette to integrating their love of running and their dog, Moira. Their day was a true reflection of their personalities, with every moment brimming with joy, love, and the sheer beauty of stick season in Vermont.

The venue also provides a preferred vendors list with transportation options for guests who stay in nearby areas.
Non-Traditional Stick Season Wedding | The Story
Emily and Jer began their day at separate Airbnbs, surrounded by their immediate families as they got ready for their celebration. Emily--a marathon runner and running coach--started her day with a 5 mile run through Rochester before settling down with her sister to do her makeup. Her mom and step-father and brother were there to hang out while Emily and her twin drank tea and laughed over shared memories while finishing up her makeup. Emily was the picture of Megan Markle in her chic backless dress and sparkly stiletto heels. Jer was equally handsome in his maroon red suit and floral boutonniere.
The ceremony took place behind the barn at Satoyama Mountain Farm, where the aisle was decorated with white ribbon and cows grazed behind the altar. Their nephew and Jer's sister walked down the aisle as their ring bearer, while their pup Moira had her own entrance with Emily's sisters at her side. Emily processed down the aisle with her father on her arm, while Jer shed tears at the altar watching his beautiful bride.
After the ceremony, the couple enjoyed couples portraits together with Moira, even getting some running in to pay homage to Emily's passion. The reception was warm and full of color, as the couple and their families made their entrances to rousing applause. The celebration was a mix of dancing, speeches, dinner, and dessert--all hosted at different times in a very non-traditional manner.
Congratulations Emily and Jer, on your beautiful non-traditional Vermont wedding. Sending you all my love for this new chapter of your journey together!
