Maddy and Matt embraced the lushness of Vermont summer by celebrating their love with a colorful and fun wedding at the Old Gray Barn in Dorset, Vermont. The couple planned a day filled with personal touches, from custom matchbooks and glencairns for their guests to a floral decor cake to match their pastel floral palette. Their day was a true reflection of their personalities, with every moment brimming with joy, love, and the natural beauty of Vermont.

Located on the rural outskirts of Dorset, Vermont, the Old Gray Barn is one of my favorite wedding venues in Vermont. From rustic barn design and layout to chic cocktail hour spaces filled with vintage furniture and beautiful views, you can't go wrong if you are looking for a place to host your countryside wedding. The venue offers picturesque spots for photos, like the Green Mountains and fields towering behind the ceremony spot, to the beautiful sunsets over the mountain ridge. The Old Gray Barn is ideal for celebrating with loved ones, providing a perfect blend of rustic and chic atmosphere.

Rustic Chic Vermont Barn Wedding | The Story

Maddy and Matt began their day at the Barrows House Inn, surrounded by their wedding party and immediate family as they drank champagne and got ready for the day. Maddy was radient in a unique Kleinfeld's dress with Betsy Johnson shoes, while Matt was equally dapper in a deep blue suit.

The ceremony took place at The Old Grey Barn, as the couple exchanged traditional vows in front of their family and friends. After the ceremony, the couple enjoyed cocktail hour before the rain started to sprinkle, listening to the sounds of their live band as snacks were shared and drinks were had.

The reception was a feast for the senses, hosted in the style of a "family dinner party" one of the couple's favorite activties. Guests raved over the live band, custom made glencairns and dynamic cake. Maddy even took scissors to her designer dress to cut it to the right length for optimal dancing!
