Olivia and Brendan celebrated their love during Memorial Day weekend in a heartwarming, intimate ceremony that was planned and executed within the span of three weeks to ensure the bride’s mother, Lori—who was battling cancer—could partake in the event.
The Venue: William's Farm | Rutland, Vermont
Olivia and Brendan got married at a family friend’s farm in a field overlooking Vermont’s green mountains. They held their reception in their backyard, and signed their marriage license on their own coffee table. The couple grew up just down the road from their current home together in Rutland, Vermont.
Vermont Farm Wedding | The Story
Olivia’s parents, Lori and Craig—both matching in medium blue—along with her best friend, Katie spent a sunny Vermont morning helping her prepare for the ceremony. Along with the essential hair and makeup preparation, Katie and her mother assisted with dressing Olivia for the wedding with a pink floral ensemble provided by Fiori Bridal. Fiori Bridal went above and beyond to help Olivia find her perfect dress–bringing over 50 dresses down to Lori’s home so she could be there to help her daughter find her perfect dress. Preceded by a heartwarming embrace between mother and bride, Olivia donned the same veil her mother wore for her own wedding and headed out, driving through the open Vermont fields up the hill on the farm.
After getting married in an intimate ceremony in the loving company of their immediate family, the bride and groom had a special, heartwarming champagne toast complete with wedding cake.
They frolicked through the very same woods and trails where they would often explore together and take photos to capture their affectionate moments.
In lieu of a venue-based reception, Olivia and Brendan opted for more intimate festivities by hosting a backyard reception—complete with lawn games, bubbles and barbecue—with friends and family at their home that they are currently in the process of renovating together.
